Product Review: Charlotte Tilbury Pt. 1

Hi all and Happy New Year! It has been a long month hiatus from posting on my actual blog and I am back and ready to take on 2019, starting with a product review! I plan on posting more in-depth product reviews on my blog so they have a place to live and you can reference back to them whenever you want! Much easier than scrolling through my Instagram, don’t ya think?

I am starting this year off with a Part 1 Review of my Charlotte Tilbury collection. CT makes some of my all-time favorite luxury products and I will never be able to get over her stunning rose gold packaging. I swear, if I’m having a bad day, I can put on one of her lipsticks and instantly feel 7% better. Since her products fall into the high-end/luxury category of cosmetics, I am only letting you know about the must-haves in her line. There are definitely some hits and misses, and I have tried enough to know what works and what you can pass on!

Filmstar Bronze & Glow– $66img-6890

This face palette is a cult-favorite, and for good reason. The formula is a finely milled powder that blends seamlessly onto the skin. The bronzer, has a slight shimmer, but is cool-toned enough to use as a bronzer and contour. The highlight has a beautiful golden-champagne tone that makes it perfect for a range of light-to-medium skin tones. She has also released a medium-to-dark version for deeper skin tones. This is the perfect palette for travel or if you are looking to streamline your collection and has become a top-shelf product for me. The formula is Paraben-free and you receive a total of 22g of product.

Hollywood Beauty Light Wand Highlighter– $38img-6889

This highlighter is one of my all-time favorite cream/liquid highlights. I am not the biggest fan of the packaging, a flexible tube with a sponge tip applicator, but the formula is so good that it hardly even bothers me anymore. This highlight is a champagne, rose gold that catches light in the most gorgeous way. A tiny dab goes a long way, however if you love a beaming highlight, you can layer this on for a bolder effect. This can be applied over or under powder and just tapped in with your fingers or beauty blender. It creates the most seamless finish and melts right into the skin. Definitely worth the splurge in my book.

Light Wonder Foundation– $46

This foundation was one of my first purchases from CT. The Light Wonder was recommended to me because I have dry skin and I was looking for something with lighter, but buildable coverage. This product is formulated with pseudo-ceramides to keep the skin hydrated and create a soft-focus finish over fine lines and wrinkles. This product is thicker when it comes out of the tube, but blends onto the skin seamlessly. I prefer using this with a sponge and then my fingers to tap in any excess product. I set this with powder where I get a little shiny, but this wears beautifully throughout the day. This is ideal for those with normal, dry, and combo skin types.

Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Eye Shadow– $32

This formula was one of my first introductions to potted cream shadows, and it has remained by my side ever since. This is truly fool-proof makeup for anyone looking to spruce up their eye look. The cream shadow is water-based and formulated with Vitamin E to remain hydrated on the lids- AKA no flaking! This formula does not crease on me and stays put all day long- no running or smudging. You can easily pat this on the eyes with your finger and blend out with a crease brush and it will look like you put so much time and effort into your look. I also love using these as a base for deeper looks! Each pot is a tad pricey, but you will receive a whopping 7ml of product that will last you FOREVER. The tiniest bit goes the longest way!

Matte Revolution Lipsticks– $34

The Matte Revolution lipsticks have become my go-to matte lip formula! Packaged in the sleekest rose gold bullet you will ever see, these little gems have even converted my Mom from her 25 year (deeply committed) Revlon and MAC relationships. Matte, but easily wearable and COMFORTABLE?! You bet. These are classic matte lipsticks, but feel so velvety and soft on the lips. They don’t budge (obviously unless you are eating oily food, duh) and wear so nicely throughout the day. They have a unique squared tip to them that mimics the precision of a lip brush! The first shade I would suggest is Pillowtalk, a cult-favorite that flatters literally everyone. It is the perfect soft, nude-pink that is perfect for everyday wear and is Paraben-free.

Hope you enjoyed this review! Stay tuned for Part 2!

xx Kels
